(CNN)--the food and Drug Administration is preparing for the prohibition of caffeinated alcohol beverages, Charles Schumer said Sen. Tuesday. in response, a leading manufacturer of drinks these announced that will subtract caffiene and other constituents of the product.

But Schumer, in a statement issued to the media, said the FDA will decide that caffeine is an unsafe additive alcoholic beverages, effectively banning them from the US market.
"Let those decisions which serve as a warning to those who tried to play dangerous and toxic brews to our children. do this and we will be closed," said Schumer, D-New York, in the Declaration.
Critics say such beverages--leading brands include four Loko and Joose--mix and three cups of coffee with three cans of beer and designed to appeal to younger consumers are accustomed to consuming high-caffeine energy drinks.
A 23.5-ounce can of four Loko contains either 6 or 12% alcohol by volume, depending on State regulations.

Phusion products, a manufacturer of Four Loko, announced Tuesday that it intends to reformulate the drinks to remove the caffeine, Guarana, taurine from. from now on, there will be only noncaffeinated versions of Four Loko.
"We have repeatedly claimed--and still believe, as do many people across the country--that the combination of alcohol and caffeine is safe; if it was unsecure, popular beverages such as rum and colas or Irish coffees that are consumed safely and responsibly for years will face the same control encountered recently our products," said synidrytes company in a statement.
The company further noted that the Office trade for excise duty and had approved products.
The statement "take that step after trying unsuccessfully----navigate a difficult and politically charged regulatory environment at both the State and federal levels," he said.
Products Phusion said that during several months who wanted to talk with regulators and policymakers in the hope of coming up with standards regulating caffeinated alcohol beverages.
