(CNN)--a woman who recently returned to Florida from Haiti has been diagnosed with cholera, MOH Florida announced Wednesday.
Outbreak in Haiti has killed more than 1,100 people, health officials said.
"We have a laboratory confirmation that is of type of cholera spreading in Haiti," said Florida health spokesman Rob Hayes. " This is a major public health concern, but we are at the top, "he added.
The woman, whose name is being withheld for privacy reasons, is released from the Hospital where she was treated and make merry, Hayes said.
"We work with our partners to provide adequate health care caring person and prevent the spread of this disease within the community," general surgeon Florida . Ana MViamonte Ros said in a written statement.
